IPTV Home Network Assembly In The Philippines: A Video 2023

Last time I discuss about the early and present stage of IPTV as a substitute of legacy cable TV network that uses coaxial cable holding RF TV channels. Today I'll share this YouTube video below when a typical DVB-S2 tuner box may also apply as an IPTV tuner box when you subscribe a bundled home fiber network service.


Whether on PLDT, Sky, Converge, Globe, Cablelink, Royal, and many others offering a home fiber network service, you have an option to get an IPTV tuner box. But in order to watch an unlimited number of wired digital TV channels (versus 181 6 MHz NTSC channels [135 to 155 respective 8 or 7 MHz PAL/SECAM channels] in conventional coaxial cable-led cable TV), it requires a conditional access system (CAS) card not only capable to unlock encrypted content but rather connect the URL of every IPTV channels produced from partner cable TV provider.


The full roll-out of IPTV network in the Philippines may be slowly progressing depending on available sources of the number of subscribers. For example, according to Google's Bard chatbot (a competitor of ChatGPT), PLDT Home Fiber with bundled Cignal TV DVB-S2 receiver box as IPTV tuner was now estimately 1 million subscribers out of 15 million subscribers with only Internet surfing and streaming combined, compared to over 3 million Cignal home satellite TV subscribers nationwide.

I was recently watched the live finale episode of ABS-CBN TV show Dream Maker whether on the network's iWantTFC or YouTube livestream through our widescreen 4K streaming TV. Watching in full HD widescreen content, in spite of a limited 30 frames per second in streaming compared to HD IPTV or DTH in full 60 frames per second, was more exciting than an older 4:3 SD video content from prehistoric TV broadcast technology, as we were transitioning from analog to digital TV.
